Rules of a Setting Sun
I walk though the endless day
Sleep through a normal night
Always fear what some would say
hiding only to keep from sight
None of them will ever know
The way I pass a simple day
The way my life is just a show
a secret I will never say
I know I'm just a willing player
to play the part I was set
But every dead man or mayor
This is a script they will never get
I try to break the chains that bind us all
locking us into what some call destiny
Can a decision we not call?
Or are we trapped like this, for all eternity
I always thought that I may bare the key
The simply hold the perfect name
To unlock the locks and set us free
but I realize that this key is but a game
Someone lets the sheep play human
to let them live a life they'll never own
To maybe live like any normal man
But these seeds of keys are sewn
A new generation, many years away
a set of lives to live in shame
Will find this set of keys someday
And once again they'll play this game
We all think we can unlock the gate
To let all others escape the pain
But the game plays out, we fill with hate
We realize we are drops on a window pane
To accept this savage rule
Don't try to fight or run
We are all trapped by a script so cruel
Warmed only by the setting sun
